Long, Long Journey Home

Eddie comes home, both literally and symbolically.  Ever the poet, he likens himself to Ulysses.  Despite all the journeys where life has taken him, Eddie, like the mythical character, sees that he has always belonged in the home he has made with Sara.  “The journey’s end was always here with you.  The me I’ve sought was always here with you.” The question of whether she will take him back is resolved in her coda: “I’ve loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you . . . You need to understand, you will always be my man.”
